What is the CCNSG Safety Passport Open Course?

Open Courses are those that are run face-to-face at a training venue. Anyone can book places on these courses either online or over the phone. The CCNSG Safety Passport is often required to enter some engineering-based construction sites. Like the CSCS card, some employers and site managers will specify the requirement for a CCNSG Safety Passport to allow you on-site and carry out your work. The CCNSG is the engineering construction safety card and is aimed at the engineering construction industry.

If you work in the construction industry only, you might want to consider CITB Training Courses. However, individual sites will specify the qualifications needed to work on them.

Assessment and Certification

The assessments are in the form of multiple-choice tests that are taken at the end of each module. To pass, you must achieve a score of at least 80% for each module.

Once you have passed your CCNSG course, you will receive your Safety Passport, which will allow you into sites that require it for three years.

You need to renew your Safety Passport before the expiry date. You no longer have the three-month grace period to take a renewal course and test to prove that you are still suitable for holding a CCNSG Safety Passport. If you do not renew before the expiry date, you will have to retake the entire course.
