Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we frequently get asked about our eLearning courses.

What’s the difference between virtual and elearning?

Elearning courses are made up of course materials that you read, listen to and watch. Our virtual courses are more like classroom courses except you are viewing your tutor and the presentation on your screen. You learn alongside other delegates, take part in group activities and discussions, share stories and situations from your workplace and get advice from your tutor and classmates. Elearning you learn at your own pace, choosing to do it all at once, an hour at a time however you like, virtual courses have set times just like a classroom course.

How long do I have to complete my IOSH Managing Safely e-learning course?

You have 12 months to complete your e-learning IOSH Managing Safely course. If you take longer than this you can purchase an extension. Typically we suggest you allow 15 hours of study over a number of days to complete this course including taking the online exam and the risk assessment task.
