What is the K008 Hand Rodding in the Underground Network Course?
This 1 day training course is designed to equip the delegate with the necessary hand rodding and cabling skills that are essential prior to undertaking the K8 accreditation assessment.
At the end of the training, successful delegates can hand rod into an underground Openreach joint box chamber or manhole.

- Hand rodding and roping techniques: Confidently hand rod and rope duct sections in the UG network using appropriate tools and methods.
- Cable installation: Successfully install cables into duct sections with accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Cable securing methods: Learn to secure cables effectively using cable straps, bears, or kit joint supports.
- Quality standards: Understand and apply the correct quality standards to ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency.

- Hard Hat with Chin Strap
- Weather Appropriate Hi Vis Clothing
- Steel Capped Safety Boots with a Defined Heel
- Safety Gloves
- Safety Glasses

You will be asked to provide photo ID on your course, such as a passport or driver’s license, please bring this with you.
