Learning Module for the S007 PIA Sub Duct and Cable Installation course
The S007 Sub Duct and Cable Installation course covers the following aspects:
- The engineering techniques used to safely deploy cable and Sub Duct up to a maximum diameter of 25mm within the Openreach underground infrastructure.
- The agreed network quality standards associated with PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) and the CP (Communication Provider) cable deployment.
- A questionnaire assessment to test delegates’ knowledge of Sub Duct and Cable Installation.
- A practical assessment to complete an installation to the correct quality standard. This will involve a simulated situation utilising the methodology employed by the CP.

Prerequisites
To be able to attend and complete the S007 PIA Pole Survey course, you will need to have previously completed and hold the SA002 Underground Safety certificate, and the NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding Operative Unit (Unit O1).
