You will be given 30 minutes to complete the assessment and you will need to get 25 out of 30 marks to pass the test. The first 4 questions are ‘safety critical’, which means you must answer these correctly to pass the exam. You are allowed to use the Construction Site Supervision (GE706) publication during the last 10 minutes of your exam.

You will also need to complete a short safety ‘toolbox talk’ style presentation to the group.

You will receive a digital certificate usually within 2 weeks of completing your course.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we frequently get asked about our CITB training courses.

Can I attend the virtual CITB SSSTS course on a smart phone?

As the CITB SSSTS course is a 2-day course, we do not allow delegates to complete the course on a smart phone. The smaller screen size will make following the tutor difficult over 2 days, as well as getting involved in the interactive activities and completing the assessment. If you do not have access to any device other than a smart phone, then a classroom-based course might be a better option for you. Contact one of our team to discuss what your options are.

Is this course CITB approved?

Yes this course and content is approved by the CITB.

When will my CITB certificate expire?

The CITB Site Safety Plus suite of courses have 5 year expiry dates on their certificates. This includes the following courses delivered by Project Skills Solutions:
  • Health and Safety Awareness
  • Temporary Works Coordinator
  • SSSTS
  • SSSTS Refresher

If you need your certificate to work, we can send you an email to confirm you have passed your course. This should satisfy your employer until you receive your certificate.

What is the pass mark for SSSTS?

The SSSTS examination pass mark is 80% (24 out of 30).

How long does the SSSTS Supervising Safely exam last?

The exam lasts 30 minutes, the first 20 minutes is a closed book exam (where you can not use any supporting materials to help you answer the questions) and in the last 10 minutes of the exam you are allowed to look in the Construction site supervision (GE706) workbook (PDF).
