EUSR Utility Excavations Category 3 – 5 Install, Inspect and Remove Timber, Steel and Proprietary Support Systems in South Ockendon

On the EUSR Utility Excavations Category 3–5 course, you’ll develop essential skills following industry standards and best practices, including:

• Analyzing utility drawings and line search documents
• Operating location equipment to detect underground services (Cat and Genny)
• Recognizing the dangers and risks associated with underground services
• Reviewing utility drawings and line search documents to identify underground services
• Applying safe digging methods to perform and maintain excavations
• Recognizing the hazards related to excavation work

The EUSR Utility Excavations scheme, developed by Energy & Utility Skills, provides skills-based training for those involved in excavation.  It ensures workers receive the necessary training and assessment to maintain safe and effective excavation practices.

In collaboration with supply chain companies, Energy & Utility Skills established industry standards to create a consistent approach to skills development. These standards define the knowledge and performance expectations for individuals conducting excavation work. Upon completion, the achieved standards are displayed on the EUSR Card.
