CITB Health and Safety Awareness - Open Course

We do not recommend attending any of our virtual courses on a mobile phone. The screen size can make it difficult to follow the course for the entire day. In some special circumstances, we will allow delegates to use a mobile phone, however, when it comes time to do the assessment the delegate will need a second device to complete the assessment. The reason delegates will need a device other than a mobile phone is because your assessment uses Microsoft Forms. When using a smart phone and navigating to Microsoft Forms, your Zoom app will pause your camera so you won't be visible to your tutor. You must be visible at all times during your assessment to be invigilated. If you do not have access to a device other than a smart phone, then a classroom course could be a better option. Contact one of our team to discuss what your options are.

You do not have to complete the test before starting the course, you can complete the test and the 1 day course in any order. Take a look at our video to find out everything you need to apply for your CSCS card - in less than 90 seconds. 

The exam takes 30 minutes, it is a closed book exam, which means you can not take any supporting materials, like your course notes or workbook, into the exam with you.

Yes this course and content is approved by the CITB.

When you attend a CITB Site Safety Plus course you need provide a form of photographic ID such as:

• Passport: A valid passport of any nationality of the delegate – must not be more than 6 months out of date
• Photo Card Driving Licence: A valid UK only driving licence with a photograph of the delegate – must not be more than 6 months out of date
• Non UK Driving Licence: Showing a photograph of the delegate – must not be more than 6 months out of date
• Work ID Card: Showing a photograph of the delegate – must not be more than 6 months out of date (if applicable) and refer to the delegates present employer
• EU Country ID Card: Showing a photograph of the delegate – must be no more than 6 months out of date
• CITB Scheme Card: Showing a photograph of the delegate – must be no more than 6 months out of date. Acceptable CITB Scheme cards include CSCS, CPCS, CISRS
• Student ID Card: Showing a photograph of the delegate, as well as year of study (e.g. 2018/2019 or expiration date and name of the institution of study) – must be no more than 6 months out of date
• Citizen Card: Showing a photograph of the delegate and be no more than 6 months out of date
• Proof of Age Card: Cards issued nationally in the UK by VALIDATE UK, bearing the PASS hologram bearing a photograph of the delegate
• Young Scots Card: Showing a photograph of the delegate – must be no more than 6 months out of date
• British Armed Forces Card/Veterans Card: Showing a photograph of the delegate and for an employee or former employee of the Armed Forces only (not a dependent or spouse) – must be no more than 6 months out of date

If a delegate does not hold any of the above ID documents they will need to complete a waiver form.

Construction Industry Training Board

In the event that delegates fail a CITB Health and Safety Awareness assessment paper, and they qualify to do a re-sit assessment, the assessment paper can ONLY be taken on the same day.
