What is PIA?
PIA, or Physical Infrastructure Access, is an Openreach initiative that allows approved telecoms providers to use Openreach’s existing underground ducts and overhead poles to deploy their own fibre networks. This shared access reduces the need for new construction, speeds up broadband rollout, and lowers costs. PIA is a key part of expanding full-fibre coverage across the UK efficiently and sustainably.
